POST: State Accountant: Business UnitSALARY: R308 154.00 plus 37% in lieu of benefitsDURATION: 12 Months Fixed Term ContractCENTRE: Central OfficeRef: TNC/CO/25 – 02/37 Requirements: Matric/NQF Level 4 Certificate plus a recognised National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 2- 3 years working experience in the Financial Management field. Knowledge and experience in financial management, reporting and budgeting, understanding of public finance related policies and processes, including Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, PFMA and CET Act, knowledge of GRAP. A valid driver’s license.Competencies, Abilities and Skills: Administrative and financial planning and organizing. Financial management. Reporting and budgeting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. Proficiency in MS Excel and financial management software’s. Communication and interpersonal skills. Problem solving. Computer literacy. Analytical abilities. Client oriented. Project management skills. Teamwork, Leadership traits. Experience in managing income generating projects and business development in the education sector would be an added advantage. Duties: Assist in the development and management of third-stream income strategies for the College’s Business Unit. Oversee and coordinate financial reporting andanalysis of income-generating activities. Reconcile and monitor income-generating accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with financial regulations. Provide financial advice and assistance to the Business Unit on revenue-generation projects. Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the Business Unit. Monitor and evaluate the performance of third-stream income initiatives. Troubleshoot and resolve financial bottlenecks that may impede business operations. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
